TechCrunch Disrupt London 2016 was held on 5th and 6th December, with the conference delving into the future of Europe and its prosperous startup ecosystem.
More than 50 companies presented their innovative technologies at the Copper Box Arena here in London. In all, the event featured two eventful days of informative panel discussions and boutique tailor made workshops featuring a diverse array of startups. The Startup Battlefield was a highlight of the showcase, where a panel of industry leading professionals, judged and shortlisted a number of nominees, before convening of the final. The Battlefield trophy and £40,000 grand prize was awarded to Seenit, a London based startup. Overall, TechCrunch Disrupt had more than 2,300 attendees and more than 2.5 million video views online.
It has been an incredible year for European startups, who have continued their exponential growth over the last few years. Whilst European Venture Capital markets initially struggled following the financial crisis in 2008, the last few years have shown encouraging signs of improvement. Recently, London has been ranked as the number one city in Europe for supporting both startups and growth capital opportunities in the Europe.
